The most dangerous part of camp is not the lake. It is the twenty minutes after lights-out when twelve campers are wide awake and the counselor has nothing planned. Never have I ever is the fix: no cards, no batteries, no flashlight needed, and it works exactly as well in a bunk as on a bus.
This list has 100 camp-themed questions, every one of them clean: cabin life, campfire, lake and field, the dining hall, bus rides and trips, counselor confessions (for staff week), and a lightning round for when you need to fill three minutes fast. They are grouped by setting so you can grab the right set for wherever you are.
Read them off this page, or open the free Never Have I Ever game on a phone and let it draw questions and count fingers — the cabin likes seeing the number. Counselors: the tips section has the two rules that keep it from turning into teasing.
Why It Works So Well at Camp
Camp is full of kids who do not know each other yet and are pretending they are not nervous about it. Never have I ever gives them a reason to admit small, funny things — I have fallen out of a canoe, I have lost a shoe in the lake — and every finger that goes down is a tiny "me too." A cabin that has laughed together about the dining hall becomes a cabin.
It also scales. Two campers on a dock can play. Eighty campers at an all-camp fire can play, with a counselor reading and everyone standing if they have done it. The same question works at both sizes, and none of it needs equipment, which matters when the equipment is a two-mile walk away.
How to Run It With a Whole Cabin
Ten fingers. The classic. Everyone holds up ten fingers, a question is read, anyone who has done it puts one down. Last camper with fingers up wins. Younger cabins pick this up in one round.
Stand if you have. For a big group or a campfire: read the question, everyone who has done it stands. Count out loud. Loud, fast, no keeping track of fingers in the dark.
Story round. After each question, one camper who put a finger down tells the story in one sentence. This is the version that produces the cabin's inside jokes for the rest of the session — and the reason the questions stay clean.

Counselor Tips
Two rules before you start: you can laugh with someone, never at them; and nobody has to tell a story they do not want to tell. Say both out loud in the first week. They keep the game from tipping into teasing while a cabin is still figuring out where everyone stands.
Let the quiet camper read. Holding the list is a small power, and handing it to the kid who has not said much all day changes their week. Rotate readers every five questions.
Keep a cabin list. Write down the questions that got the biggest reaction. By the last night you will have your own custom set, and the cabin will ask to hear it one more time.

Eight and up. Everything is clean and nothing needs explaining. The counselor set is for staff, not campers; the lightning round works for any age.
How do you play never have i ever with a big group at camp?
Use stand-if-you-have: read the question and everyone who has done it stands. Count out loud. It works for a cabin of twelve or an all-camp campfire of a hundred.
Can we play this on the bus?
Yes — the bus set was written for it. A counselor reads from the front and each row holds up fingers. Keep score on the window with a dry-erase marker if you have one.
Do we need phones or printouts?
No. Read from your phone once, or memorize five and go. If the camp allows devices, the free online game draws questions and counts fingers, which campers like watching.
Are there questions for staff week or counselor training?
The counselor confessions set was written for exactly that. Add your own camp's inside jokes and it becomes a staff tradition fast.
Can I use these for a day camp or church camp?
Yes. Nothing is sleepaway-specific except the cabin set; day camps can skip it and use the rest. Everything is clean enough for a church youth group.
